Headway acquires Tezi

When Jason and I started Tezi, we set out to build something we deeply believed in: that humans and AI working together are better than either alone. We designed systems where AI agents handle the tedious operational work inside complex, real-world workflows — so that the humans in the loop can focus on the parts of their jobs that actually require their judgment and expertise.

When I first spoke with Andrew Adams about what Headway is building, I knew this was the right next chapter. Headway is tackling one of the most important and complex problems out there: making mental health care accessible to everyone. The mission is extraordinary, the people are exceptional, and the business is at a genuine inflection point: over 70,000 providers and millions of patients, with a real opportunity to reshape how the entire system works.

What struck me most is how directly the work we did at Tezi maps to what Headway needs. Mental health care is deeply human — trust, empathy, and clinical judgment will always be at the center. But the system around that care is fragmented and operationally complex. Providers spend too much time navigating insurance and administrative work. Patients struggle to find the right clinician or understand their coverage. This is exactly the kind of messy, real-world problem where human-AI collaboration can make a massive difference — not by replacing clinicians, but by removing the friction that gets between them and their patients.

We are incredibly grateful to the investors – especially our lead investors 8VC, Audacious, and SemperVirens – and the customers who believed in Tezi and supported us on this journey. Your conviction in our vision gave us the runway to build something meaningful, and that work now gets to have an even greater impact.

I couldn't be more excited about what we're going to build next. We will make the mental health system work the way it should!
